Member Metro Umpires For 9-Years (1975-1977, 1980, 2002-2004, 2016-2017).
Umpired In The Softball NL Provincials.
Umpired In The St. John's Senior & Intermediate Men's Fastpitch Leagues.
Umpired In The St. John's Ladies Fastpitch League.
Level 2 National Umpire Designation.
 
On The Field As A Player
In 1968, Civil Service Fastpitch League Champions - City Hall Team.
In 1972, Captured St. John's Junior Fastpitch League Batting Title (15-39 .385BA).
In 1972, Provincial Junior Men's Fastpitch Champions - St. John's Caps (4-0 Record).
Played 7-Years In The St. John's Senior Men's Fastpitch League (1972-77 & 1979).
Teams: Crosbies (1972), KFC (1973-74), Belvedere (1975-76), Cabot Street (1977) & Star of the Sea (1979).

In 1993, Coached Kilbride To Girl's Moss Tournament Championship.

Edward Hong beloved husband, father, and Poppy, mentor and coach both on and off of the field has passed away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, February 26th, at the Health Sciences Center in his 66th year.

Predeceased by mother, Fronie and father Charles Hong, Brother Mel, sister in-law Sheila, niece Krista, father In-law Dick, and brother in-law Rick.

Left with fond and loving memories, his loving wife Anne, daughters Shannon (Wayne); Jennifer (Aiden); Carter (Jon); Danielle (Scott), and his seven grandchildren, Joshua; Rowan; Parker, Payton; Rylan; Gavin; Patrick and baby on the way. Brothers Bill (Carol), Orv (Sandra), Sister Rose (Felix). Brother Don (Anna), Cliff (Ros) also many loving nieces and nephews. Mother In-law Mary (Charles); Sister In-law Cass (Mike), Brother In-law Jamie (Cathy) and a large circle of friends and extended family.

Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
