NL Fastpitch Is Saddened To Learn That Brendan (Bren) McGrath Passed Away On Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Bren Played In The St. John's Senior Men's Fastpitch League For 8-Seasons (1966, 1968 to 1974). He Played 1-Season With The Jays (1966), 1-Season With Arcade Specials (1968), 2-Seasons With Chester Dawe Lumberjacks (1969-1970), 3-Seasons With The White Knights (1971-1973) And 1-Season With Sea Gull Crafts (1974). He Was A Member Of 3 League Championship Teams (1968 Arcade Specials, 1969 Chester Dawe Lumberjacks and 1971 White Knights) And Captured The Senior Provincial Men's Championship With The Chester Dawe Lumberjacks In 1969.

Bren McGrath
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 23rd, 2020 in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, Brendan Francis McGrath, aged 79 years. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Frances McGrath (nee Reddy); sister Stella; brother-in-law Adrian St. Croix; and sister-in-law Joan McGrath. Leaving to mourn with loving memories his children Nancy (Chris Dillon) and Michael (Tiffany) and their mother Patricia; grandchildren: Julia, Jacob, Maverick, Madison, Dayton, Meiko and Carter; brother Tom; sister Marjorie Wheeler; sister-in-law Paula Cusack; brothers-in-law Bill Wheeler and John Walsh; special friends Phyllis Dicks and Jack Quinlan; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As per Bren’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 from 12 noon – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27th, 2020 from Mary Queen of the World Church at 10 a.m with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Bren’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at Mary Queen of the World of which he was a long time member, or to the SPCA.
