Calling All Umpires

The Metro Umpires Association is currently looking for new and/or old members to come and register with us. Umpiring does have a lot of great things to offer – if of course – you think you can tolerate and learn to deal with the realities of the officiating world: dust, confrontation, rules, fans… and, on the brighter side… camaraderie, the colour of blue, teamwork and partnership.

For many years, the St. John's Fastpitch League has been recognized as one of the best organizations in Canada because of the many talented players that have represented our province at the National and International levels. Would you like a front row seat to the action? If so, please contact the Metro Umpires Association and we will help you learn the rules, provide you with learning experiences, and prepare you for WORLD-CLASS softball.

Participants will need to dress warmly for the afternoon session as this will take place outside. The on-field mechanics component will focus on positioning, both plate and base and how to move around the diamond so that you can try to place yourself in the best position to judge a call.
