Day 5 Result: Game #5: Canada 4 vs. USA 3

Game Notes:

Devon McCullough started for Canada and Tony Mancha started for the United States.

The United States opened the scoring in the Bottom of the 3rd Inning. With 1-Out: Matt Palazzo walked, Frank Degroat reached on an infield hit, Matt Palazzo advanced to second base on the play, an error allowed Matt Palazzo to advance to third base and score on the play.

Canada tied the game 1-1 with a single run in the Top of the 4th Inning. With 1-Out: Andy Skelton hit a Solo Home Run.

The United States scored a pair of runs in the Bottom of the 6th Inning. Josh Johnson led-off the inning with a double, Josh Johnson advanced to third base on a wild pitch and With 1-Out: Nick Mullins singled to score Josh Johnson, Tony Mancha singled, Nick Mullins advanced to second base on the play, a wild pitch allowed Nick Mullins to advance to third base and Tony Mancha to advance to second base and Pat Sagdal grounded out 6-3 to score Nick Mullins.

Canada trailed 3-1 heading to the Top of the 7th Inning. With 2-Out: Mathieu Roy singled, Jeff Ellsworth singled, Mathieu Roy advanced to second base on the play and Gregg Garrity stepped to the plate and hit a 3-Run Home Run to give Canada a 4-3 lead.

The United States threatened in the Bottom of the 7th Inning. Chris Miljavac walked, Paul Koert replaced Andy Skelton, Nate Devin doubled, Chris Miljavac advanced to third base on the play, With 1-Out: Josh Johnson was walked intentionally to load the bases, Derrick Zechman reached on a fielder's choice; Chris Miljavac out 5-2 on the play, Nate Devin advanced to third base on the play and Josh Johnson advanced to second base on the play and With 2-Out and the bases loaded Paul Koert got Nick Mullins to fly out to centerfield to end the threat and game.

Devon McCullough (2.1IP, 1R, 3H, 2HBP, 2BB, 2K) started for Canada. Derek Mayson (3IP, 2R, 4H, 0BB, 0K) came on in relief of McCullough. Andy Skelton (0.2IP, 0R, 0H, 1BB, 0K) in relief of Mayson picked up the win, while Paul Koert (1IP, 0R, 1H, 0BB, 1K) in relief of Skelton picked up the save.

Tony Mancha (7IP, 4R, 9H, 4BB, 6K) went the distance in taking the loss.
