NL Fastpitch Is Saddened To Learn That George Crewe Passed Away On Monday, November 18, 2019.

George Crewe Enjoyed An 11-Year Playing Career In The St. John's Senior Men's Fastpitch League From 1958 to 1968. He Played 8 Seasons With The Aces (1958-1965), Played 1-Season With The Golden Eagles (1966) And Played 2-Seasons With The London Aces (1967-1968). As A Member Of The Aces He Captured 2 League Championships (1958, 1961), 2 Home Run Titles (1958, 1961) And 1 Slugging Title (1959).

George Tilley Cole Crewe
Predeceased by parents Nimshi Cole Crewe and Hilda May Tilley Crewe. Brother Richard (Ruth) and Sister in law Elizabeth (Paddon) Crewe, Sister Margaret (John) Small. Survived by his beloved and loving wife Phyllis (Giles) who was by his side at his passing. Sisters Catherine (Del) Miller, Ruth (David) Brough, Sister in law Ruth (Russell) Crewe, Brother in law John Small. Brothers in law and spouses Joe and Betty Giles, Reg and Lorraine Giles, Roland Giles and Brenda Humphrey, Randy Giles. Many loved nieces and nephews who have wonderful memories of Uncle George From the Small, Miller, Niven, Hussey, McCarthy, Blackadar, Brough. Crewe, and Prout families. Dear devoted Friends Dorothy Power and Donald Churchill who are there for George and Phyllis always, especially in the past several years.... You are a blessing. George's sense of humour especially, was enjoyed by all as well as his musical talent with the trumpet - which a few of the younger members have taken up. In his younger years he was admired for his athletic acumen, especially in softball. A kind, loving, and caring son, husband, brother, uncle and friend. A special thank you to the Medical Staff at 3 North East, Pleasant View Tower for their loving care of our dear George. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. Funeral Service to be held at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road, Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
